# OutputCustomToolCallItem - TypeScript SDK

A call to a custom (freeform-grammar) tool created by the model — distinct from `function_call`. Used for tools like Codex CLI's `apply_patch` whose payload is opaque text rather than JSON arguments.

## Example Usage
